- UK Gateway Clinic
August 31, 2020 - September 4, 2020
9:00 am - 5:00 pm
The Gateway Clinic (GC) provides authentic information about hoof care. Participants learn how and why to trim according to logical guidelines through classroom lectures and hands-on, supervised trimming instruction using cadaver hooves. The use of cadaver hooves allows participants to focus on learning to trim without the distraction of handling a horse or potentially compromising its hooves. Importantly, participants also receive science-based information about other major forces and circumstances that affect hoof health and shape. Together, this information gives participants a solid foundation for launching a professional hoof care career or trimming and evaluating the health of their own horses’ hooves.
Venue: Stonegarthside Hall
Important Policy Note: LH recognizes that unforeseeable events (e.g., instructor illness or lack of clinic participants) could conceivably necessitate the cancellation of a clinic. Although to date this has never happened, we have adopted a policy to help safeguard clinic participants from the unnecessary loss of funds. Beginning in 2020 we strongly discourage clinic participants from making nonrefundable travel arrangements until after registration has closed, typically one month before the start of the clinic. At that time, we will provide written confirmation of the clinic. If a clinic is canceled 100% of registration fees already paid will be refunded.
Registration: To submit the registration fee, you will be taken to a secure PayPal Site: You can then pay using a credit card. IMPORTANTLY, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO HAVE A PAYPAL ACCOUNT. The registration fee includes the five-day clinic, accommodations at Stonegarthside Hall, transportation to/from nearby train stations, self-serve breakfast fair and catered lunches and dinners Monday through Friday.
Refunds will be granted up to 30 days prior to the event. A $30 processing fee plus any PayPal fee will be deducted from each refund. No refunds will be granted within 30 days of the event, although the funds may be applied to a future Gateway Clinic.
